Asian Careers Journal (ACJ) is a brand new initiative of the Asian Careers Society. A first of its kind, the journal aims to introduce and promote career prospects in Asia. Topics can range from the latest business trends, cutting edge developments within sectors, to light-hearted commentaries on after-work life in different cultures. Share your passion and knowledge - join us as a journalist.
Positions are available in the following divisions:
Research Division*
Generate quality articles concerning current affairs, interesting trends, business areas, job-related issues in the Asia-Pacific region
Aim: 1 – 2 articles of high quality
Qualities: Analytical, creative, resourceful and highly competent in written English
Interview Division*
Conduct interviews with business professionals, human resources representatives, professors and prominent alumni.
Research on the career prospects and opportunities in various sectors (Investment Banking, Law, Management Consultancy, Accounting, FMCG) in flourishing markets in the Asia-Pacific region
Previous reporting experience is preferable but not essential
Design Division
Design pictures to accompany articles as well as the theme picture of the front cover
Design posters, flyers and other marketing materials for the promotion of ACJ
Design the layout of the magazine
Applicants should have prior knowledge in using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign (or equivalent)

The Asian Careers Society will be launching our annual highlight, the Asian Careers Week from the 14th – 18th of November. We will be delivering a diverse series of career events, including skills sessions, corporate presentations, networking sessions and internship panels, which aim to equip you for the current recruiting season.

15 October 2011 Asia Exposure 2011
Co-organised by ACS and LSESU Business Society, Asia Exposure is a week-long career-focused trip in December for 30 selected international students to visit more than 10 international firms in Hong Kong. During the trip, students have the opportunity to explore internship and job opportunities at top investment banks and financial service providers. By interacting with professionals and recruiters, students gain first-hand information about the firms and their practices.
This is an invaluable opportunity for students who are interested in a career in finance to gain an insight into the banking industry in Hong Kong. Asia Exposure has proved to be highly successful in the past few years and many participants managed to secure internship offers from prestigious investment banks.

As the end of this term is drawing to a close, it is our great privilege to hand over Asian Careers Society to the next committee who will be able to build on the success that has been established over the years. As such, we will be holding our Annual General Meeting and Committee 2011-12 Election in Week 8, and details are as follows.
